The death toll from the violent floods in northern Italy has risen to 14. The body of an elderly man was found in the city of Faenza on Friday, the Ansa and Adnkronos news agencies reported.
Meanwhile, people in vulnerable areas of the Emilia-Romagna region are still being asked to leave their homes. Authorities mainly evacuated residents in parts of the provincial capital of Ravenna.
In addition, it started to rain again, which increased the anxiety of many people. However, the rainfall should not be “comparable” to that which reached historic proportions and led to catastrophic consequences earlier this week, Irene Priolo, the region’s vice president, said on Italian television. She especially feared that the rain could lead to further landslides.
