Dive into the price list: This is how much the Smart #3 costs

The “reborn” Smart expands its range with the Smart #3. How should this car be positioned and what exactly does it have to offer? We find out by looking at the price list.

Now that Smart has become a partnership between Daimler (Mercedes-Benz) and Geely, the brand is taking a different approach. Gone are the striking city cars, here come the electric SUV-like ones. After #1 it’s now time for #3. Smart will also number its models. Unlike Polestar, for example, the numbering is not based on the introduction, but the number actually indicates a positioning. The #1 is a compact model and the Smart #3 belongs to the (upper) middle class. So there can be an “intermediate buddy” in the form of a No. 2.

Smart #3 is a “sporty coupe”

What kind of car is the Smart #3 exactly? Smart calls it a “sporty coupe,” but of course that makes no sense. The car is too high for that and there are too many doors. So an SUV with a coupé-like roofline? That’s closer, but at 1.55 meters high it’s quite low for an SUV. In short, it’s hard to categorize, so it’s a real crossover. Luckily, as we discovered at the end of last year, it drives like a sporty coupe.

Motors Smart #3

The Smart #3 is available with two drives. Most versions have an output of 200 kW (272 hp) and a maximum torque of 343 Nm, which is delivered to the rear wheels. 100 km/h can be reached in 5.9 seconds, but the top speed is limited to a modest 180 km/h. In the base model, a 49 kWh battery ensures a range of 325 km (WLTP). The higher trim levels have a 66 kWh battery, good for a range of 435 to 455 km (WLTP). By the way, we have already tested how far the latest version goes in practice.

The Smart #3 Brabus is characterized by an additional electric motor that is suitable for all-wheel drive and has a system output of 315 kW (428 hp) with a torque of 584 Nm. 100 km/h is reached in 3.7 seconds, but the top speed is still 180 km/h. The range is 415 km (WTLP).

Prices Smart #3

The Smart #3 is available from 38,394 euros for the Pro, the price rises to 50,895 euros for the top model Brabus. In between are Pro+ and Premium, with the starting price being equally distributed. A temporary version is the 25th Anniversary, available from 46,555 euros. Leasing the #3 through Smart itself is possible from 579 euros per month.

Standard equipment Smart #3

A selection of standard equipment: 19-inch alloy wheels, full LED lighting, heated exterior mirrors, panoramic roof, synthetic leather upholstery, automatic climate control, 9.2-inch digital instruments, 12.8-inch infotainment screen (incl. navigation, 4G/WLAN) . , over-the-air updates) and a huge list of assistance and safety systems.

We choose the top model Brabus. Then you also get 20-inch alloy wheels, privacy glass, microfiber suede upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, cabin air filter, head-up display and a Beats audio system.

Outdoor decoration

The default color is black. Good news for anyone who prefers a little color in their life: Choosing something different almost never costs anything more. Not even the two-tone variants with a contrasting roof. You only pay 880 euros more for the matt gray color. In addition to black and dark gray, white, red and even orange are also available for the body. The Brabus differs from the other versions in that the contrasting roof can also be made in red instead of just black. Below you can see all possible color combinations.

We choose red with a black roof. There is no other wheel choice for the Brabus.

Interior decoration

There is no choice in the interior anyway. The Smart #3 Brabus is always equipped with the black microfiber suede upholstery.

Packages and individual options

This brings us to the end of the configuration process, as the lack of an options list is noticeable. What equipment you have on board and what you don’t depends entirely on your choice of equipment level.

Assemble the Smart #3 yourself

This also means that the Smart #3 Brabus we put together still costs 50,895 euros. How would you assemble the car? All equipment and options can be found at www.smart.com/nl.
