On Tuesday, the German rapper Marteria in the American state of North Carolina apparently has to answer to the judge. The musician, whose real name is Marten Laciny, was summoned to the “Charlotte Superior Court” on charges of violence.
What happened?
On the night of March 30, the musician allegedly got into a fight with his girlfriend. The reason for the violent confrontation was an affair of the rapper, according to court and police files available to the “Bild-Zeitung”. He allegedly pushed his girlfriend against the wall several times – so hard that a lamp would have broken. The officers would have found broken glass next to the bed.
The rapper then put his hands around the neck of the 28-year-old victim and strangled him. This left a small bruise and redness on the victim’s neck, which were also found by the investigating officers.
The Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) subsequently arrested the 40-year-old. He was released hours later on $5,000 bail.
“A prison sentence is very possible”
At a first court hearing on Tuesday afternoon (local time) A US judge must now decide whether there will be a lawsuit.
Local law firm Beaver Courie writes on its website: “Imprisonment is very possible, especially if there is an injury.” In this case, the bruising and redness on the neck can be used as evidence of an injury. The court files also state that Marteria wants to be represented by a public defender. And it is clearly written: failure to appear in court will result in new arrest.
