Musk founds artificial intelligence company

Tech billionaire Elon Musk wants to join the current hype around artificial intelligence (AI). The Twitter owner and boss of the electric car manufacturer Tesla has founded the company X.AI in Nevada.

This is according to a company database of the US state. Musk and his chief of staff Jared Birchall have been named as responsible.

The Wall Street Journal reported on Saturday evening about the company, which was already registered on March 9. In recent days, there has been increasing evidence that Musk is more active in the field of artificial intelligence. The Financial Times reported on Friday that he had already found investors for a new AI company.

The website “Business Insider” wrote that he bought thousands of graphics cards from the supplier Nvidia. The technology is often used for artificial intelligence-based applications. Musk downplayed that in a recent interview: Everyone was buying a lot of graphics cards. (sda/dpa)
