Mike Turner is throwing the US into turmoil.

Speculations about a possible threat to US national security have been fueled in the American capital Washington. House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner released a statement Wednesday saying his committee had “provided information regarding a serious threat to national security” to all members of Congress. He further wrote that he calls on US President Joe Biden (81) to release all information about this threat so that Congress, the government and allies can openly discuss the measures needed in response. The Republican did not make it clear what type of threat it was, causing all kinds of speculation.

When asked at a press conference at the White House, Biden’s security adviser Jake Sullivan (47) confirmed that he had planned a briefing for the so-called ‘Gang of Eight’ on Thursday. The “Gang of Eight” includes high-ranking members of Congress from both parties who can be briefed by the president on Secret Service activities and covert operations. Sullivan said he was somewhat surprised that Turner spoke publicly about the issue before the meeting. He did not respond to several questions about what type of threat it was. (SDA)
