Lawsuit at German court about consequences of corona vaccination After Prigozhin case: who cooks for the Russian soldiers?

A young woman receives her corona vaccination at the children's vaccination center of the children's hospital in Zurich, photographed on July 1, 2021 in Zurich. Since July 28, 12 to 15-year-olds are also vaccinated in Zurich ...

Negotiations on a compensation claim against the corona vaccine manufacturer Astrazeneca started on Monday in Bamberg, southern Germany. The 32-year-old accuser was vaccinated in 2021 with the Covid-19 vaccine from the British-Swedish company and subsequently suffered a so-called intestinal vein thrombosis. She claims from Astrazeneca a minimum of EUR 250,000 in damages and EUR 17,200 for lost income and a maximum of EUR 600,000 for future impairments.

The civil lawsuit is one of the first against a corona vaccine manufacturer in Germany. It is unclear whether a ruling will be made on Monday. It is also conceivable that the parties will reach a settlement.

The woman was temporarily treated in intensive care and says she still suffers from the consequences of the vaccination to this day. The High Court dismissed her lawsuit in early January. She appealed against this. The manufacturer’s lawyers reject the plaintiff’s claim and refer to the first instance ruling.

At the beginning of the process, the woman’s lawyer also requested that the manufacturer be obliged to provide information about all side effects and negative consequences of vaccination with its corona vaccine. (aeg/sda/dpa)
