The National League has paid Geneva goalkeeper Robert Mayer (33) for his behaviour. In the fifth game of the playoff final against EHC Biel, Mayer was guilty of “whitewashing and overt behavior to get a penalty”. The national goalkeeper sank theatrically in the 7-1 victory after being lightly touched by Luca Cunti (33). The union fined Mayer 2,000 francs. It’s Mayer’s first conviction for a swallow.
Noah Schneeberger (34) of EHC Biel has also been convicted of the same misconduct. On the 7-1 smack in game five, the defender threw his head back exaggeratedly after a high stick and stared at the umpire. This behavior was judged an “embellishment” by the league and Schneeberger was fined 4,000 francs – as it is his second conviction for a swallow. (nsa)
