The newly established Swiss Sport Integrity registration office was heavily used in its first year. In 2022, 264 reports were received by the independent reporting and investigation agency for ethical violations and abuses in Swiss sport.

Processing the reports is time-consuming: 127 were still being processed at the end of the year, 137 had been completed. Precautions were taken in four cases and an investigation was launched in 42 cases. Three research reports ended up on the table of the Disciplinary Chamber of Swiss Sport (DK), which ruled at the end of this year. In two cases, Swiss Olympic was informed about abuses at sports clubs.

Since January 1, 2022, the Antidoping Switzerland Foundation has been renamed Swiss Sport Integrity and deals with ethical violations in addition to doping violations.

More banned substances secured than ever before

Seven suspensions were imposed in the traditional zone for doping violations. The number of doping controls rose to a record number of 2,329 samples, of which 1,521 were taken out of competition.

Also in 2022, prohibited substances were seized more often than ever. This happened 1115 times. In 13 cases the importers were subject to private anti-doping regulations and could be prosecuted accordingly.

The athletes usually check the doping status of drugs themselves. They prefer to use the “Medi-Check app” for this, as shown by the 166,000 surveys. (SDA)
