As announced by the organizers and the Swiss Cycling Association, the Swiss country selection for the Tour de Romandie complements the 18 invited teams, which also include manager Fabian Cancellara’s Swiss Tudor team.
However, the union also refrains from starting the Tour de Suisse due to a new age limit. Under the new rule, only athletes up to the age of 25 are allowed in the national teams. In addition, two local formations are participating again this year with the Tudor and the Q36.5 team.
The Tour de Romandie takes place from April 25 to 30, the ten-day Tour de Suisse starts on June 11. Whether the national team will be present at the Tour de Suisse Women and/or the Tour de Romandie will be decided in the spring. (SDA)
