Lugo tied his second-worst winless streak in the division

Despite Alavés’ 18 strikes, Club Deportivo Lugo provided the most convincing picture of their last games in Mendizorroza. He did not crumple and showed courage in attack, which is the most important thing for a team that is in dire need of victories. They could have come back with three points — they also lost — but they had to settle for a draw (0-0) and with this result they equaled their second-worst winless streak in the silver category.

With the draw in Vitoria, Lugo now have ten consecutive games without a win, all in 2023, a stretch of the season that has sunk them in the table, adding just three points thanks to as many draws. The three draws ended 0-0 on the scoreboard, as one of the problems of the Luga team is the score drought, with only two goals since the beginning of the year and both in games that ended in losses: 1-2 against Villarreal B and 3-1 against Levante.

Lugo also went ten games without a win in the 2014/2015 season, between days 33 and 42, a streak that was extended in the first meeting of the next course for a total of eleven consecutive games without a win between two consecutive leagues. In their career, they have only one worse series in the Second League, the one that should have taken them to the Second League B in the 2020/2021 season. They then went on a 16-match winless streak between days 23 and 38, just before the final sprint to confirm their near-miraculous consistency.
