The ATP 250 tournament in Tel Aviv has been canceled due to the precarious security situation, the ATP announced.
“The violence and acts of terror we are witnessing in Israel are unimaginable. We strongly condemn all forms of terrorism and regret the loss of innocent lives in this conflict. We hope and pray for peace in the region,” said ATP President Andrea Gaudenzi.
The tournament should have taken place in the second week of November, Novak Djokovic would have participated as defending champion. Last year, the tournament was held again for the first time after a 26-year hiatus. Novak Djokovic won against Marin Cilic in the reprise of the final. (SDA/jsl)
