The UEFA Executive Committee decided on the venues for the next two European Championships in Nyon on Tuesday afternoon. The tournaments both take place in different countries.
In 2028, the European Championships will be held in Great Britain and Ireland. Most matches take place in England, six of the ten stadiums are in the motherland of football. The other host countries Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland each provide one stadium.
2032 in Turkey and Italy
Four years later, the search is on in Turkey and Italy for the best national team in Europe. The stadiums for the 2032 tournament have not yet been determined; there are 20 locations in the hall.
The Turkish Football Association initially wanted to apply to organize the European Championship alone in 2028, but then decided to organize it together with Italy in 2032. The registrations for both tournaments were unprecedented and the announcement was only a formality.
Russia initially wanted to submit an application to organize the two tournaments in March 2022, but was rejected by UEFA due to the war of aggression against Ukraine. (bjl)
