Migros Zurich has a new boss! Patrik Pörtig became the general manager of Migros Zurich. He will replace Jörg Blunschi, according to a press release. Migros Zurich management has completed the evaluation process for the important position. And I decided on Pörtig.
The 44-year-old business economist currently serves as CEO of Migros Fachmarkt AG and has many years of experience in both domestic and international retail. He has been managing the brands Do it + Garden, Melectronics, Micasa, SportX and Bike World since July 2020.
Almost 30 years in retail trade
Migros continues: “Patrik Pörtig is a deep retail expert, having worked in various functions in the retail industry for nearly 30 years.” Before starting at Migros Fachmarkt AG, he served as general manager at Töpfenbach-Ochsner AG, a subsidiary of the Deichmann Group. That’s why I’m responsible for international projects for Europe’s largest shoe retailer.
Pörtig will assume his new position in July 2024. He will succeed Jörg Blunschi (61), who will retire early at the end of June 2024. (pbe)
