When Jeremy Renner wanted to help a vehicle that broke down after heavy snowfall on New Year’s Day 2023, he almost paid with his life. His snow plow ran over him, the actor broke more than thirty bones and was in danger of losing his life. Renner was taken to hospital by helicopter. He underwent emergency surgery several times and at one point it was suspected that he would lose his legs. But that’s all behind him.
After appearing as the narrator in his famous Marvel role as Hawkeye in the current season of “Marvel’s What If…?” on Disney+, Jeremy Renner will soon return to the camera.
“Marvel’s What If…?” at Disney+*
He actually confirmed this himself after his colleague Emma Laird first made it public.
Starting in early 2024: Renner will film the third season of “Mayor Of Kingstown”.
With the caption “It’s happening”, Emma Laird published a camera photo from the series “Mayor Of Kingstown” in an Instagram story, showing her and Jeremy Renner. She added the information that it would continue “next week.” Shortly afterwards, Renner also shared Laird’s post to his own Instagram Story.
Filming for the third season of “Mayor Of Kingstown” will begin in the first week of January 2024, exactly one year after Renner’s accident. It will be the first time that Renner is in front of the camera again.
“Mayor Of Kingstown” and many other series and films at Paramount+*
Produced exclusively for Paramount+, the thriller series ‘Mayor Of Kingstown’ focuses on a fictional Michigan town and the family that rules it, who use their own methods to ensure peace between street gangs, drug dealers, the mafia and the like. Jeremy Renner plays a member of the family who, in the first episode, becomes mayor of the city he actually wanted to leave behind all his life.
The series is written by Taylor Sheridan, who is currently responsible for other series with ‘Yellowstone’ including several spin-offs and ‘Tulsa King’. He previously hinted that “Mayor Of Kingstown” will be the first of his projects to return to production after the Hollywood strikes end.
It is unknown when we will see Renner in theaters again. Shortly before his accident, he wanted to tackle a film project with the directing duo Aron Gaudet and Gita Pullapilly, known for the comedy “Queenpins,” in which he portrayed the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist David Armstrong. The focus should be on how he revealed that the pharmaceutical company Purdue made billions from the highly addictive painkiller Oycontin.
