Al Ahly has won the Egyptian Super Cup for the third time in a row. The team led by Marcel Koller defeated Modern Future, a team from Cairo, 4-2 after extra time in the final in Abu Dhabi.

Among the goalscorers were former Super League player Mahmoud Kahraba (Lucerne and GC) and former Bundesliga veteran Anthony Modeste (Hoffenheim, Cologne and Dortmund).

With Koller, who has been in office at the Egyptian record champion for more than 16 months, Al Ahly already won the Super Cup in October 2022 and May 2023. The 63-year-old from Zurich also led the club to the league title and victory in the African Champions League this year. (SDA)
