The star of the movie “Doctor Lisa” arrived in Tbilisi this week. The 47-year-old actress did not report her trip on social networks. This became known from the director of the State Academic Russian Drama Theater in Tbilisi named after AS Gribojedov.

Nikolai Sventitsky published a picture with Khamatova on his personal blog. They posed on the street late at night. “An amazing woman and an amazing actress Chulpan Khamatova. Welcome!” – wrote the head of the theater.

At the end of February, the artistic director of the New Riga Theater canceled the performance based on Nikolai Gogol’s novel “Owners of the Old World”, in which Chulpan was supposed to play. Director Uldis Tirons said it was a “creative failure”. He pointed out that the idea of ​​staging a production in Latvian and Ukrainian was a mistake.

Many users concluded that Khamatova came to Georgia to start working in the local theater. The press secretary of the institution, Ekaterina Panjikidze, commented emotionally on the situation. “This is bullshit. There are no agreements with Chulpan Khamatova to work in our theater. We did not invite the actress,” Panjikidze told the Paragraph portal.

Ekaterina admitted that Khamatova really entered the scene of a cultural institution. At the same time, according to his press secretary, we are talking about a tour project. On March 10, Chulpan played in the musical and poetic performance “Orpheus”. In it, the artist read poems by Tsvetaeva, Brodsky, Pasternak and other poets to the music of the harpist and composer Alexander Boldachev. Previously, the former prima of the Sovremennik Theater visited several American cities with this production.

“Tickets for Chulpan’s only concert in Tbilisi were sold a month before the performance,” Nikolay Sventitsky emphasized. Today, Khamatova is to return to Latvia, where she emigrated in February 2022.
