Dive into the price list: The NIO EL7 – Better than Tesla Model Y?

Many new brands were launched in the Netherlands last year. One of them is NIO. With a look at the price list, we are already introduced to their SUV model NIO EL7.

NIO debuts in our country with three models. With ET5 and ET7 there are two sedan-like models for the upper middle class. If you want more interior space and/or a higher seat, you can contact them for the NIO EL7. This is a 4.9 m long five-seater SUV for the upper middle class. In China, the car is called the ES7, hence the different name in the photo above this article.

Technical data NIO EL7

In the NIO EL7 you are never short of power. Either way, you get no less than 480 kW (653 hp) of power, sent to all four wheels. This allows you to sprint to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 200 km/h. There are two battery packs to choose from: a 75 kWh and a 100 kWh variant with 70 or 95 kWh usable capacity. This means that the range is 400 or 520 km (WLTP).

Prices NIO EL7

The starting price of the NIO EL7 is 76,900 euros. A significant amount, but the car comes standard with all the bells and whistles. The option list is limited to the visual decoration, more on that later. You can also choose the battery. You make the choice of battery in two ways: big or small and buy or rent.

The starting price shown is based on battery rental. Anyone who buys the 75 kWh battery costs a whopping 12,000 euros extra. The battery rental costs 169 euros per month. The 100 kWh battery even costs 21,000 euros extra, or has a monthly amount of 289 euros per month. You have to decide for yourself which is cheaper, depending on how long you want to drive the car. An advantage of battery rental is that you can choose to take a larger or smaller battery with you. You can easily change them at one of the NIO changing stations.

Equipment NIO EL7

Like many of the other new brands, NIO doesn’t work with a traditional price list. This isn’t really necessary if there isn’t an option list. However, there is not a very clear equipment list, but the brand names a few highlights. The NIO EL7 is equipped as standard with: doors with soft-close function, acoustic windows, an opening panorama roof, independently adjustable backrests in the rear, a 12.8-inch display for extensive infotainment (including 5G, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi -Fi – Fi 6, UWB and NFC), the NOMI voice assistant on the dashboard, a high-quality audio system with 23 speakers and 1,000 watts of power, an electrically deployable towbar and advanced semi-autonomous driving functions.

Exterior decoration NIO EL7

The limited options list then. There are seven colors to choose from for the body. Non-metallic gray is standard, black and white are options at no extra cost. Green, orange and two shades of blue are also possible for a surcharge of 1,680 euros. For 2,600 euros, you can opt for 21-inch rims as an alternative to the standard 20-inch rims. Depending on your choice of battery, these rims also cost 20 to 30 km of range, so unless you really like the bigger rims that much better, keep the money in your pocket.

Interior decoration NIO EL7

As standard, the interior is largely covered with light brown upholstery in combination with a dark gray dashboard and door parts. On request, the upholstery is completely black or pure white. Both options have no additional costs.

Lots of options

The separate options are just two sets of winter tires. A set of 20-inch wheels for 4,000 euros, a set of 21-inch wheels for 4,500 euros. Solid prices again, but there are also complete wheel sets with luxury rims.
