You don’t have to pay these fines!

If you follow all the rules exactly, you may never have received a fine. What happens if you unexpectedly receive a traffic fine? Then you should not simply withdraw the amount. Scammers are active!

If you receive a fine, a letter from the CJIB will be on your doorstep. CJIB stands for Central Judicial Collection Agency. The authority is not just about traffic fines. The collection of fines, transactions and compensation measures are also handled by the government agency.

You do not have to pay these fines

Although it is usually wise to pay a fine quickly and avoid reminders and fine increases, you still need to pay close attention. There are scammers active who say you are at risk of a fine and then ask you to transfer the money to an account number. It’s not just about traffic fines, but people are also being cheated with fake unpaid local taxes or overdue health insurance contributions.

Recognize fraudsters

How do you recognize the fraudsters’ fines? This is actually quite simple. The CJIB never sends fines, reminders or arrears via email, SMS or WhatsApp. You will always receive the fine by post at home. You can always pay securely via iDeal on the CJIB website, so you never have to transfer money.

Please note if you receive a message that does not come from the CJIB itself: do not pay the fine, do not click on any links and report the message to the Fraud Help Desk. If you paid the scammers, report it to the police.
