A cargo ship has run aground in Egypt’s Suez Canal. There is great concern about a major disruption to world trade on one of the major trade routes.
Four ships were waiting behind the ship, shipping company “Leth Agencies” announced on Thursday morning.
The cargo ship, named “Xin Hai Tong 23”, has a size of 190 meters. He was no longer manoeuvrable, so tugs tried to free him.

“Leth Agencies” has now announced that the “Xin Hai Tong 23” is afloat again and passage will be possible from 09:30.

Just two years ago, the “Ever Given” blocked the Suez Canal. The ship was stranded for days and caused a massive disruption to world trade.
