Tina Turner passed away. She died in Switzerland on Wednesday at the age of 83. Her fans (many of whom are also celebrities) are mourning.
Among all the photos, performances and other memories shared on social media, there is always an excerpt from an interview from 1996.
In the clip, the late journalist Mike Wallace and Tina stroll through their property in Nice, France, overlooking the French Riviera.
In the interview, the two talk at length about Turner’s life, including her early career and her legendary comeback. But one reaction from the singer has been shared time and time again in light of her death.
“Do you feel you deserve all of this?” Mike asked, looking out over their French estate.
“I make more money,” Tina replied before bursting into laughter.
