Valentino Cofone (26) was sentenced to five and a half years in prison for abusing a woman in the dressing room of a pizzeria in July 2016.

A 26-year-old Italian man was sentenced to five and a half years in prison for the crime of sexual assault. We are talking about Valentino Cofone, who in 2016 raped his work colleague in the pizzeria La locanda di Pietroin the Roman district of Prati, in order to win a bet he made with another employee of the institution, according to Corriere della Sera. “After so many years, we got justice,” said Francesca Venditti, the victim’s lawyer.

The facts go back almost seven years. Cofone made a 50 euro bet with a pizza chef from a restaurant that he was capable of sexual relations with his work colleague. The clerk, who thought it was a consensual relationship anyway, agreed.

July 23, 2016 three coincided in the same service, at noon. During the day, the victim went to the changing room to change because it was very hot. Cofone used this moment to also access this room, approach his partner and joke with her.

Then the pizza guy entered the dressing room, and the victim managed to get out. Ten minutes later, she returned to the dressing room, and the attacker pounced on her and raped her.
