The head of the Wagner Group acknowledges Russia’s military failure in Ukraine

The head of mercenary company Wagner Group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, admitted failure Russian military campaign in Ukraine, after confirming that none of his goals were met, in an interview published on his Telegram channel.

“A special military operation was launched with the aim of ‘denazification’, but we turned Ukraine into a nation known to the whole world. They (Ukrainians) are like the Greeks and Romans from the time of prosperity,” said the leader of the Wagnerites. .

Demilitarization of Ukraine, the second mission proposed by the Russian presidentVladimir Putinit is also a failure for Prigogine.

“If before the start of the special operation they (Ukrainians) had, say, 500 tanks, now they have 5,000. If then they knew how to fight with 20,000 soldiers, now they have 400,000. So, are we demilitarizing it? Now it turns out that we are militarizing Ukraine and in what way,” he summarized.

He assured that Wagner’s group was “the best army in the world” and added that “to be accurate, I should say that the second Russian army”.

“But I think the Ukrainians have one of the strongest armies”Prigozhin said, clarifying that Ukrainian troops successfully handle any weapon system, whether of Soviet or NATO origin.

In addition, he compared the motivation of Ukrainian soldiers to that of the Soviets during the war with Nazi Germany.

“They do everything for the sake of achieving the ultimate goal, as we did during the Great Patriotic War (as the Soviet Union called the period of World War II between the beginning of the invasion of the USSR in June 1941 and the capitulation of Germany. ),” he asserted.

Prigozhin also attacked the children of the state elite for the luxurious life they portray on social networks, when “their children return to ordinary people in zinc coffins, torn to pieces.”

“And we must not think that we are talking about hundreds, now tens of thousands of relatives who died. And there will surely be hundreds of thousands”he added.

He warned that this double standard “could end like 1917, with a revolution.”
