Title hunter Honda has decided to leave Red Bull – and now Aston Martin (in 2022 still seventh in the world championship behind Alfa-Sauber) – to chase victories and world titles. Like at Williams, Lotus and McLaren. However, as a separate team, Honda has never been particularly successful.

Red Bull builds its own engines

The link between Audi and Sauber is already established. Another manufacturer is called Red Bull-Ford. The police built their own engine factory (powertrains) for 400 million euros. Partner Ford builds the electrical components. Alpine (Renault), Ferrari and Mercedes are the other manufacturers.

There could be a small loophole for General Motors (GM) if Andretti is admitted as the eleventh team.

6-cylinder engines remain

The other changes: The MGU-H, which generates energy from the exhaust heat, will then be banned. The six-cylinder engines remain. At the moment they are on the road with about 1000 horsepower – of which 160 horsepower currently comes from electric motors.

From 2026, Formula 1 cars may only have around 900 hp. 450 must then be obtained from the electric sector, the other half from the combustion engine.

Fog stopped Schumi…

Interesting is the question of how many of the 20 current drivers will still appear in the GP circus in 2026. An online survey by Blick has clearly shown that fans would not welcome Mick Schumacher (24) in Hinwil.

The German, who is no longer wanted at Haas-Ferrari, was already in a factory Ferrari and Alfa-Sauber within two days of a test in Bahrain in 2019.

And in October 2020, fog on the Nürburgring prevented official GP practice for the people from Hinwil on Friday morning.
