A man was killed in a rocket attack on a residential building in the Israeli town of Rehovot near Tel Aviv on Thursday evening. Two other people were injured in the attack by Palestinian militants from the Gaza Strip, Israeli police said. Five people had anxiety attacks. Security forces are currently searching the building for other injuries. Rescue workers spoke of a total of eight injured.
Despite attempts at a ceasefire, fighting between Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip and the Israeli army continued. On Thursday, Israeli forces reported the targeted killing of two other senior members of the Palestinian militant organization Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip.
More than 540 rockets fired at Israel
According to the Health Ministry in Gaza, 28 people have been killed and more than 80 injured since the Israeli military offensive “Shield and Arrow” began on Tuesday. At least 17 of the dead were civilians, according to Palestinian sources.
