Just days before the coronation of King Charles III. An arrest and controlled explosion have raised concerns for the safety of royals and spectators at the impending ceremony. A man had thrown objects – believed to be shotgun grenades – over the fence of the palace in London on Tuesday evening, but was quickly arrested. The man is said to be mentally ill.

The British tabloids outnumbered each other on the front pages on Wednesday with reports of the incident: the “Daily Mail” wrote in large letters about a “shotgun shell drama”. The Daily Mirror said the palace was in lockdown following the attack. The Sun, citing eyewitnesses, reported that the man shouted that he wanted to kill the king before throwing objects over the fence into the palace grounds. (sda)

The first royal fans have been camping along the King’s Coronation Route since Tuesday, waiting for the carriage with the king and his wife to head for Westminster Abbey.

Patrick O’Neil and John Loughrey are pictured. They call themselves “Royal Enthusiasts”.

They could follow the extensive rehearsals for the coronation procession, which took place on Wednesday evening, from the front row. In the early hours of the morning, hundreds of soldiers marched or drove along King Charles III’s route. and his wife Camilla will be celebrated by spectators on Saturday. A number of horses, instruments and the two golden carriages were used at the rehearsal.

According to Earl Marshall, who was responsible for the organization, 7,000 military personnel were involved in the rehearsals. The service at the abbey was to be attended by 2,300 people, including about 100 heads of state. (jam/sda)
