Since the beginning of this year it has been known that full-time activists of the German climate group “Last Generation” receive a salary of 1,300 euros (the equivalent of 1,280 francs).
According to “Bild”, there is still a shortage of professionals in climate adhesives. Internal documents available to the newspaper show that the climate group is looking for new employees. Bizarre job descriptions such as ‘prison coordinator’ can be read, among other things.
“Organize your own street blockade”
According to the documents, 35 different features are advertised. Among other things, the “Last Generation” is looking for new staff for its so-called call center. “Keep it up for a few hours and organize your own roadblock, easily from home,” the activists write in an internal chat. Work pressure: 7 to 21 hours a week. Home office is also possible.
The climate group is also looking for an IT expert who is familiar with data protection, among other things. This will be charged for 14 hours. However, this position “requires a lot of trust,” the ad says.
Applicants must therefore provide evidence of an “indicator of a pure heart, such as left-green social media posts, writing a book, or sticking it in the street.”
“Last Generation” wants to set up a prison working group
A specialist is also needed for organizing talks, training the climate stickers and mobilizing other activists. The so-called trainer should not be averse to “traveling for something”.
The climate group already has an eye on the ideal person for this position: “We especially want to encourage you to apply with us if you describe yourself as ‘Flinta’!”, write the climate stickers. Flinta is an abbreviation and stands for women, lesbians, intersex, non-binary, trans and agender people.
Last but not least, a so-called “prison coordinator” should remedy the situation for all climate gluers who are taken into custody for their actions. “People are increasingly being held for longer periods of time or even locked up,” the ad reads.
That is why a prison working group should be set up. The “prison coordinator” would be responsible, among other things, for building a network of pastors and psychologists within the prisons. Finally, the climate group writes that they have the option to “pay people for charity work”. But that does not apply to everyone, de Kleber continues. The internal documents do not state which position is rewarded and how. (dzc)
