As young men are sent to their deaths, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov (55) did not want his son Nikolai Peskov (33) to fight in the war in Ukraine. But Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin, 61, claimed the opposite last week: “He normally worked like a simple artilleryman, knee-deep in mud and shit,” said Prigozhin. Few would have known about it.
At first, Nikolai Peskov did not comment on this. Until now. “I just had to participate. I couldn’t stand on the sidelines and watch friends and other people go there,” Peskov Jr. said in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda. He had joined the mercenaries under an assumed name. So no one found out what famous family he came from.
He was in Ukraine for just under half a year and received a medal for bravery from Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin (70).
Did Peskov drive his Tesla instead of at war?
On Monday, his father Dmitry Peskov also confirmed that his offspring were in Ukraine. “Yes, he took part in a special military operation. I don’t want to say more about it, it has nothing to do with my work,” said the Kremlin spokesman.
But was Peskov’s son really in Ukraine? Telegram doubts whether Peskov junior was actually in Ukraine. His Tesla Model X collected busses diligently in the six months.
According to Telegram channel Cheka-OGPU, the car violated traffic rules on July 24 and November 6. However, during this time, Peskov should have been in Ukraine. The Telegram channel published screenshots of surveillance cameras that recorded the Tesla exceeding the speed limit.
Wagner mercenaries know nothing about the operation
To prove his involvement in the war, Vladimir Solovyov (59), Putin’s main TV agitator, published images on Telegram that allegedly showed Nikolay Peskov at the front near Soledar. However, current and former Wagner mercenaries contradict Cheka-OGPU. Peskow appeared neither in Soledar nor in Bachmut.
In fact, going to war would mean a sudden change of heart. Because: in September 2022 he had strongly opposed conscription. A confidant of the Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny (46) called him. He asked if Peskov would be ready to fight in the war.
The young man replied that if they sent him to Ukraine, the workers would not be well. Tenor: Who knows what Papa Peskow will do to the officer when he finds out his own son has been drafted. Now his statements suddenly sound very different.
