Daddy Yankee managed to sell out five performances of “La Meta”, a series of concerts that he will give from November 30 to December 3 at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan, and with which he will close his musical career.
“Thank you thank you Puerto Rico! All the dates are gone there in the Choliseo. I promise you the best closure ever. It’s good that I was born in Puerto Rico and I say hello to all my people,” the “Big Boss” said in a video posted on his Instagram profile.
“Thank you all for your love. I promise you the greatest finish of my career. You won’t sit down, you already know! See you at the finish line”added the so-called “Maximal leader” of the urban genre on the same social network.
Daddy Yankee in March 2022, he announced his decision to retire from music and planned to hold his last three concerts in Puerto Rico January of this year, but they were postponed.
It was last November, when Pina Records announced that the shows on January 6, 7 and 8 had been postponed due to “logistical difficulties and careful production details”.
Promoter and production company Pina Recordsconvicted Puerto Rican producer Raphy Pina, denied at the end of March that Daddy Yankee would perform in Latin America and Europe with his “La Última Vuelta” tour.
“We repeat, the last presentations of his career will be in Puerto Rico. Any other promotion you see is completely false,” the company emphasized.
A few days ago, his topic “Petrol”, a whole hymn of this music genre entered the sound register that is United States Library of Congress, the largest in the world, preserved for posterity.
His latest album, “Legendata”which surpassed 600 million views in less than a month, has 19 tracks and features collaborations with artists such as Bad Bunny, Rauw Alejandro, Pitbull, Natti Natasha and Becky G.
