Most of the time, climate adhesives are the ones that cause red heads. With their actions, they regularly cause traffic jams for miles – for example on Good Friday, when they blocked the Gotthard tunnel in the middle of the Easter traffic jam.

This week, however, the Berlin police caused dissatisfaction with their handling of climate stickers. On Thursday, activists of the “last generation” clung to the streets of the German capital. A short time later, the police arrived at the scene and requested the climate stickers to clear the road again.

Police officers pull the activist’s neck and chin

In a video from “MDR Investigativ,” one of the police officers can be heard telling the activists, “Then I ask you to go there right now. Otherwise I will cause you pain.” A clear threat of violence.

The activist responded to the officer’s sharp words: “I’m sitting here peacefully and you just want to carry me away.” The police officer then counts down from three and then wears the climate sticker together with a colleague from the street.

The video shows the police officers pulling the young man’s neck and chin. Another video shows how the German officials try to drag the activist off the street with painful grips, after which he screams loudly.

«The content of the video is being checked»

Under the video, the behavior of the police officers is sometimes heavily criticized. One user asks, “Where’s the proportionality here?” Others, on the other hand, defend the officials and are sure: “That’s the way it should be!”

At the request of “Focus Online”, a police spokeswoman explains: “The entire content of the video is checked for all possible questions.” The video has been shared thousands of times on social media. The “last generation” also shared the video on Twitter, initially without comment. (obf)
