Frankfurt raid: During a search for violations of the War Weapons Control Act, police in Frankfurt am Main (D) seized explosives, firearms and ammunition.
Three men between the ages of 19 and 26 are suspected of digging up, reusing and selling weapons and ammunition from World War II.
Special units were also deployed during the raid. Three residential buildings in the Bergen-Enkheim and Nordend districts and a garden plot in the south of Frankfurt were searched. Frankfurt police have found a large number of potential explosives, firearms and ammunition.

According to the police, the objects included several explosive grenades that had to be blown up on site by the explosive ordnance disposal service.
The three suspects have been arrested. The 26-year-old must appear before the investigating judge on Saturday. According to the police, the other two suspects will be released after the search ends. This should continue over the weekend. (AFP)
