Officers from the Tampa Police Department were called to an unusual operation last Wednesday, March 29. The troublemaker was not a human, but a 10-foot-long alligator. A bodycam video shows them overpowering the animal:
The incident took place in a densely populated area not far from Raymond James Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers football team.
Specialist praises the action of the police
Police said the gator was removed by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission so it could find “a more suitable home.”
Phil Walters, an alligator trapper hired by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to assist officers, said he was impressed with the work of the Tampa Police Department. “I think the Tampa Police Department is trying to put me out of work,” he wrote on Facebook.
