A deadly incident at Edinburgh’s Imperial Dock has called for emergency services. 25 people were injured when a research vessel overturned on its dry deck.
The 3000 ton colossus “RV Petrel” is now lying in the harbor at an angle of 45 degrees. At 8:30 a.m. local time, several ambulances went to the scene of the accident. The local emergency room is overcrowded, the BBC writes.
The police have called on the population to avoid the area around the port to allow rescuers access. The coast guard is also present, as is the fire brigade.

The dock operator declined to comment. The 76-meter ship is part of the estate of Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, who passed away in 2018. However, since the outbreak of Corona, it is no longer used. Previously it was mainly used for deep-sea search operations. (aeg)
