He is fit, well built and, above all, has a lot of money in his bank account. In September, Kürsat Y.* (42) alias “Chico” cracked the lottery jackpot in Germany and won almost ten million euros. His life changed 180 degrees. He can afford to go to expensive restaurants, take boat trips and put on designer clothes. But now a less glamorous experience followed: Chico had to be treated in hospital.
The 42-year-old underwent surgery for a broken navel on Monday. “I was in pain, so I decided with my doctor to have it repaired early,” quotes “Bild” of the lottery millionaire. The abdominal wall was stabilized and everything went smoothly. Moments later, Chico was able to bite into a doner kebab brought by his brother and leave the hospital.
Still, Chico has to take it easy at home. Doctors have imposed strict bed rest on him.
Recently targeted by criminals
The necessary operation was not the first scare moment for Chico. In January, he was targeted by criminals. Suddenly, a five-figure amount is missing from his account.
He had ordered a new bank card from his bank, but it never arrived. Chico assumes that the new card must have been stolen in the post – together with the pin code letter. It only took the thieves four hours to debit 10,000 euros from the account. (A)
