After Castillo were immediately arrested, Chávez and former foreign trade ministers Roberto Sánchez and Interior Willy Huerta The national prosecutor declared them co-authors of the crime of sedition and conspiracy, and the parliament asked the judiciary to order a ban on them leaving the country.

On this topic, Williams told reporters that he Congress has corrected the information on this request to prevent Chávez and Sánchez from leaving the country, as requested by the competent supreme court on Monday.

Last Friday, Standing Committee of the Parliament approved asking the judiciary to order preventing the former head of the Council of Ministers and the former trade minister from leaving the country for their alleged intervention in the events.

The decision was based on “the possibility of avoiding justice”after a previous report recommended charging Chávez, Sánchez and Huerta as co-authors of Castillo’s failed coup.

In addition, the Commission proposed charging the former ministers with the alleged commission of the crimes of sedition and conspiracy, as co-authors and also recommends the suspension of Chávez and Sánchez, both deputies, from their parliamentary duties.

Shortly after this news was published, Sánchez announced that he had submitted his passport to Congress, with the aim of showing his own “full mood for cooperation with the investigations that are developing with the constitutional denunciation”.
