As a gesture of solidarity, the Eiffel Tower in Paris will be illuminated in the colors of the Ukrainian flag in blue and yellow from Thursday evening, the eve of the anniversary, until Sunday. This is a sign of “unwavering support” for the country, the Paris City Hall said.
The city also lit up the Eiffel Tower in Ukrainian colors for three days, one day after the Russian invasion a year ago. On the anniversary itself, on Friday, demonstrations are planned in Tour and Lille, among others. Several Ukrainian and French organizations called for demonstrations in Paris and about 15 other places on Saturday, including Marseille and Lyon.
