Fleeing from a police check, two men in Erfurt faked their deaths – but officials were not fooled by them. First, the two fled in their car when they had to stop at a routine traffic check on Sunday morning.
Shortly afterwards, the police discovered the car. It was locked from the inside, the two men were lying on their stomachs in the rear area and would have played dead, according to the police in Erfurt. Only after several threats to forcefully break open the car did the men surrender.
The two 42-year-olds were under the influence of drugs, neither had a driver’s license. Both denied driving the car. They were taken to the police station and given several reports – they were then told to walk home. (saw/dpa)
