Scandal influencer Andrew Tate will remain in custody at least until February 27. This was decided by a Romanian court on Friday. Detention was also extended for Tate’s brother Tristan. The brothers are suspected of rape, human trafficking and money laundering. The Tates deny all allegations. The reasons for this extension of detention are expected later in a written statement.
Andrew Tate first rose to prominence in 2016 when he was kicked off Britain’s Big Brother show after a video of him beating a woman with a belt went public. As a result, the former kickboxer created a questionable but large fan base with coaching offers for men and sexist and chauvinistic comments on social media. (dab)
