More classified documents found in Trump storage unit

According to media reports, a search of a storage unit in the state of Florida used by former US President Donald Trump (76) turned up at least two other secret documents.

A team hired by Trump made the find, the Washington Post and American broadcaster CNN reported Wednesday, citing informants familiar with the case. The documents, which were not described in detail, were turned over to the FBI from the Federal Police.

Was Trump ever in this storage unit?

According to the Washington Post, a source said of the found, “There were suits, swords, wrestling belts and everything.” And further: “As far as I know, he has never been in this storage room. I don’t think anyone in the Trump world can tell you what’s in that storage space.”

Trump’s team examined the storage unit as part of a larger search of several Republican properties, it said. Trump had previously been asked if he had given the FBI all documents classified as confidential, secret or top secret.

The background to this is the months-long dispute over the treatment of government documents: on August 8, the FBI searched Trump’s private property Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach (Florida) and seized documents containing the notes. “. of his tenure.

Before that, the National Archives — which is responsible for storing presidential records — had been trying for months to get hold of Trump’s papers. By keeping the papers at his home, the 76-year-old could have been guilty. The investigation also includes charges of obstruction of justice. (SDA/euc)
