“Thank you, Germany”: This is how the Ukrainians celebrate a downturn with the “Twitter Files” cheetah anti-aircraft system, according to the White House, a “diversion”

Probably the most effective and efficient means of countering drones would be the German anti-aircraft tank Gepard, but these are not available to the Ukrainians in sufficient numbers.
The Ukrainian army released a video on Monday showing the launch of a Russian cruise missile by a German Gepard anti-aircraft tank, the army said.

The film, which lasts almost 26 seconds, shows a cheetah firing several shots from a position in a lightly snowy field, shortly after which there is a fierce explosion in the sky. The hit flying object then falls to the ground to the cheers of Ukrainian soldiers.

Video of Ukrainian soldiers distributed via Twitter:

“Material provided by partners protects Ukrainian airspace from the terrorists’ cruise missiles,” it said on Facebook. “This time it’s an impeccable job from the German cheetah. Thank you, Germany.”

The authenticity of the video could not initially be independently confirmed. Russia attacked Ukraine again on Monday with dozens of cruise missiles. However, the video that has now been released does not indicate when the recording was made.

Ukraine has already received 30 Gepard anti-aircraft tanks from the stocks of the manufacturer Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW). In addition, the delivery of seven more cheetahs was announced last Friday in Berlin.

Since the beginning of the Russian offensive war at the end of February, Germany has supplied Ukraine with nearly two billion euros worth of weapons and military equipment. (con/sda/dpa)
