Several million have already been spent: this is Chico, the (still) Lotto millionaire Austria: hikers find eight dead constrictors in Linz

Crane operator Yildirim became lottery millionaire Chico: the story of Kürşat Yildirim from Dortmund fascinates the German media landscape. The 42-year-old with the sneaky nickname hit the jackpot of nearly €10 million in September. He has already spent more than 2 million.

Chico does not shy away from the media. He has already given interviews in Spiegel, Bild and T-Online. He also shares his Dolce Vita on his Instagram channel “chicoferrari488”, which he captioned with the following description: “I’ve seen everything, the ghetto and the crème de la crème.”

From the sidewalk to the skyline

Chico actually knows how to talk about the ghetto. The lottery millionaire has already been in jail twice, as he confessed in the photo: “I messed up a lot and was at the bottom. I’m very sorry today.” Chico was convicted of fraud and again of theft.

Drugs and alcohol are the culprits, leading to gambling addiction and gambling debts. “I prayed many times that I would have another chance and leave this life behind.” Now he wants to make up for a lot: “I would like to go to Africa myself, build wells, give presents to children,” said the man from Dortmund.

But first Ferrari, Porsche and two football clubs

The question is how much money Chico has left over for the compensation. He spends the money with his hands full. He has already “invested” two million euros in investments, he calculates for the “Spiegel”. The investments? A Ferrari Pista for 700,000 euros, a Porsche 911 for 300,000 euros, several expensive watches and designer clothes for 500,000 euros and a penthouse in Istanbul for another 500,000 euros – makes a total of two million euros.

But that’s not all: Chico first wanted to buy his favorite cafe, but when that didn’t work out, he was now talking to a new shop owner. He now also supports two football clubs from Dortmund, he explains in an interview with Reviersport. Once the district team FC Roj Dortmund and recently TuS Bövinghausen, where former German international Kevin Grosskreutz also plays.

He is also attacked for his devotion to Roj. He is accused of not being able to support a Kurdish club as a Turk, but he doesn’t care: “These are just really, really good guys I grew up with. I hate racism and things like that. Where no one was there for me, these guys were there for me.”

Now come the businessmen

The large expenses, the media hype, all of this evokes bad memories of Lotto-Lothar. He also won several million in the 1990s, bought a white Lamborghini, and died of cirrhosis of the liver a few years later.

But Chico sees no parallels with Lothar, he tells Der Spiegel. He immediately stopped drinking and is now “high from life”. Moreover, his money is now in good hands: “I invested a lot and the rest is in good hands with my brothers and my best friend. They are solid businessmen who advise me,” the Dortmunder told Bild newspaper.

Still the same

However, it is unclear exactly how that should go with investments such as the Ferrari. Cars tend to lose value when used, and Chico doesn’t seem particularly interested in preserving their value: “I didn’t get the box, so I wouldn’t smoke here,” says the millionaire. The 42-year-old is not put off by cheeseburgers and fries from the McDrive.

So Chico remains Chico. In addition to his life in luxury, he remains true to himself and a Dortmund “Nordstadtjunge”. He takes the son of a janitor friend on a joyride in a Ferrari, continues to play the lottery and wants to offer the kids in his neighborhood kebab dishes for Christmas. “The wolf changes its coat, but not its character,” says Chico.
