A plane of the Tanzanian airline Precision Airline landed in Lake Victoria on Sunday morning.
According to the director of the Tanzanian aviation authority TCAA, the machine was said to have been near the town of Bukoba on Lake Victoria in northwestern Tanzania at the time of the accident.
No deaths confirmed at this time
According to rescuers at the scene, heavy rain and thick fog made the landing of the plane more difficult. However, a detailed investigation into the cause of the crash is still pending.
At least 26 of the 43 people on board were injured in the crash and were taken to a nearby hospital. The rescue operation continues for the time being. According to initial information, there were no deaths.
