A Swiss airline captain canceled the flight to Zurich on Sunday due to an abusive passenger. According to Zwitser there was an incident with crew members on board. The plane returned to Newark, New Jersey.
The passenger insulted crew members shortly after the Airbus plane took off, a Swiss spokeswoman told the Keystone-SDA news agency on Monday. The plane then turned back due to the unruly man on board. The “Blick” first reported the incident online.
A crew member was injured in the incident, the Swiss spokeswoman said. It was taken to the hospital for explanation.
Loud scream
During the flight, a loud scream was suddenly heard, a passenger wrote on the social network Reddit. After the scream, the flight crew immediately ran to the front of the aircraft.
The man was reportedly taken by police in Newark. The company spokeswoman gave no reason for the panic. The flight was subsequently cancelled.
There were 236 passengers and 13 crew members on board the aircraft of flight LX19. The affected passengers should be taken to Zurich on the next flight. (sda)
