
Dead in stabbing in supermarket near Milan, professional footballer also injured
A man has stabbed himself in a supermarket near the Italian city of Milan. According to Italian media, one is dead and at least four injured. The perpetrator was overpowered by passers-by and handed over to the police. His motive is not clear, but it is reported that he has no terrorist intentions.
The stabbing took place in Assago, south of Milan. The fatal victim is said to be a supermarket employee.
One of the injured is the Spanish professional footballer Pablo Marí. He is under contract at Arsenal and is on loan at Monza. 29-year-old Marí also played in the Netherlands for a year. He played for NAC on loan in the 2017/2018 season. Arsenal say in a statement that Marí was not seriously injured.
