Last week, host country Germany presented their jerseys for the 2024 European Championship, and now England also showed how they will position themselves in the summer. The home shirt is traditionally white, but manufacturer Nike surprises with the away shirt, which is dark in color and has a colorful pattern on the side. Until now, the away shirt was almost always red.

The German national football team has always played in white. Manufacturer Adidas will not shake things up at home this summer at the European Championships. In this respect, the jerseys that the German Football Association has now presented and that the national players will wear in the remaining test matches and then also at the European Championship offer little surprise.
Only the sleeves of the home shirts, which are otherwise almost entirely in the traditional ‘color’, are decorated with the national colors black, red and gold. “The whimsical color gradient on the shoulders is inspired by the feathers of the eagle,” says Adidas.

However, the Germans are breaking new ground when it comes to the away shirt. Previously this was mainly black and in exceptional cases, such as the World Cup victories of 1954, 1974 and 1990, green, but this time it runs from pink to purple. Adidas and the national team are creating something new. DFB star Florian Wirtz was happy with the bold design: “I think the away shirt is very cool! Something different and very special.” However, in the group match against Switzerland on June 23, Germany are expected to wear the white shirts, even though they are considered the away team. After all, pink and purple probably clash too much with the red jerseys of Switzerland.
