Public libraries in Massachusetts have been struggling with fewer visitors since the pandemic and have therefore launched the ‘Fee Fee Forgiveness’ project. Anyone who returns a book late or has damaged it can simply attach a photo of a cat – and will not receive a fine. This even applies to bookworms who have lost the borrowed books.

It is clear that the choice fell on Büsis. Jason Homer of the Worcester Public Library said, “A librarian is a book lover, a cardigan lover and a cat lover.” And because the library staff in Worcester have many cats at home, they came up with the idea of waiving a fine in exchange for a cat photo or drawing.
