During yesterday’s edition of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’, actor Robert De Niro was refreshingly direct about the confirmed Republican presidential candidate. He quickly called Donald Trump a “damn idiot.”
Which may not be the most constructive contribution to the discussion about the upcoming elections. But De Niro quickly followed up by saying that Trump was not just an idiot, but a dangerous idiot and that everyone should therefore use their voice.
He also said that he would never play Trump as an actor because he sees no positive qualities in him.

Robert De Niro has often been critical of Trump in the past and never shies away from using unpleasant expressions.
The dispute between the two started again last November. The film ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’, in which De Niro starred, was honored at the Gotham Awards.
De Niro then gave his acceptance speech, but realized after a short time that the entire text could not be found on his teleprompter. Apparently the organizers had deleted the political positions shortly before.
But De Niro took out his cell phone and read the entire speech. In the deleted section, the criticism of Donald Trump was particularly loud. He said, among other things:
“The former president lied to us more than 30,000 times during his four years in office and he is keeping pace with his current campaign of revenge.”
It didn’t take long for Trump’s response to the speech to arrive. On his Truth Social platform, he called De Niro a total failure.
In his post, Trump alludes to De Niro’s damaged reputation. He himself came under criticism when a former employee of his sued him in a civil lawsuit.
Robert De Niro recently reappeared on several late night shows to promote his new movie “Ezra.”
