Another woman accuses anti-abortion activist Walker of inciting her to have an abortion Kiev: Refugees must stay abroad during winter – the night update without photos

Republican candidate Herschel Walker continues to struggle in the race for a seat in the US Senate, which could rule over control of the House of Representatives.

On Wednesday, a second woman came forward who said the former footballer urged her to have an abortion. Walker is a staunch opponent of abortion and the revelations could undermine his credibility. Walker rejected the woman’s statements during an election campaign, NBC TV reported.

Herschel Walker positions himself as a clear opponent of abortion.

A few weeks ago, another woman told The Daily Beast and the Washington Post, among others, that Walker had given her money for an abortion. Walker also denies this. Both women wished to remain anonymous to protect themselves and their families. The second woman said she was pregnant with Walker in 1993.

In Georgia, residents have been able to vote since last Monday, while the actual election date is November 8. About a million votes have now been cast, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, who is responsible for the elections, announced on Wednesday. President Joe Biden’s surprise win of both Georgia seats had put Democrats in control of the Senate in 2020 after a six-year hiatus.

Normally, senators in the United States are elected for a six-year term. Incumbent Raphael Warnock is now running for re-election to one of the seats because two years ago it was just about the end of the term of a Republican predecessor who had resigned. Walker challenges him to the Republicans. According to the latest polls, Democrat Warnock is slightly ahead.

In this year’s Senate election, every seat counts for both parties: both camps currently have 50 senators in the Senate each. In deadlock situations, Vice President Kamala Harris has the casting vote for Democrats.

There are 14 Democratic seats and 21 Republican seats to vote for in the current election round. In the majority of races, however, it seems certain that the party affiliation of the seats will not change. (con/sda/dpa)
