The teacher demanded ‘anti-bite hats’ from her class – it escalated AfD using misogynistic memes – and attracts ridicule

Thanks to social media, people discover phenomena that simply amaze you – and that can only spread into the world through social media. In this category belong the Filipino “anti-bite hats”.

At her school in Legazpi, teacher Mary Joy Mandane-Ortiz has asked her students to make hats out of paper so that they can’t copy during midterm tests. She was inspired by a report in which students in Thailand wear paper earflaps during an exam.

But the students of Mandane-Ortiz were not satisfied with simple ‘paper ears’. They let their creativity run wild.
