Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell: She will appeal the verdict in March.

Ghislaine Maxwell (62) has been in prison for twenty years: she introduced underage girls to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and continuously recruited supplies for the billionaire, who committed suicide in custody in 2019.

But why did she help him? She has denied the allegations until now and has never come clean about her time with Epstein. She apparently wants to change that: as the Daily Mail reports, Ghislaine Maxwell is writing her memoir behind bars.

However, she is not expected to confess everything, but to deny what the victims told the police. She seems to let everyone know that the articles and stories about her in the news are all false, the source told the British newspaper. She is still convinced that she did nothing wrong.

Manuscript written on typewriter

Maxwell reportedly writes her book on a typewriter, which she has access to through her job at the prison library. She is allowed to use lockers and often changes where she locks her manuscript for fear it could be stolen, the source told the Daily Mail.

Maxwell is currently waiting for March, when his next hearing will take place. She appealed the 2021 ruling. Her lawyers claim Maxwell was made a scapegoat by prosecutors because Epstein was dead. And the “public outcry” demanded that someone be blamed.

Their lawyers also say the government waited too long to file charges. Maxwell is also immune under a 2007 non-prosecution agreement between Epstein and federal prosecutors in Florida. (neo)
