This is how Putin’s daughter raises millions. German Bundestag simplifies deportations of foreigners without the right to stay

Maria Vorontsova seems ubiquitous in Russia. The doctor often appears on government channels and comments on a wide range of topics. Sometimes her appearances seem out of place and, in any case, not justified by her position as an endocrinologist. But Vorontsova is no ordinary doctor: the 38-year-old is said to be the daughter of Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin.

As such, Vorontsova does not lead a simple life: she can call riches such as expensive cars or spacious residential complexes her own. With a “normal” endocrinologist salary in Russia, the alleged Putin daughter’s lifestyle is hardly affordable.

The investigative team led by jailed opposition figure Alexei Navalny has now revealed how far apart these two worlds are and explained it in a video on the YouTube platform.

Vorontsova has created an extremely lucrative company

According to this data, endocrinologists in Russia earn between 20,000 and 30,000 rubles per month – depending on the region in which they work and after taxes – or between 195 and 290 francs. Vorontsova can only laugh at such amounts.

Her income alone from her work at Moscow State University, for the National Association of Endocrinologists and at the National Research Center for Endocrinology of the Ministry of Health is many times this amount: more than 193,000 rubles (1,885 francs).

But according to the Navalny team’s research, this is likely just Vorontsova’s “basic income.” Because in 2019, Vorontsova founded the medical company Nomeco. The company has set itself all kinds of goals.

However, according to the report, the company only publishes articles about patriotic holidays in Russia. The Navalny investigators suspect: Nomeco is used to pour money into the coffers of the alleged Putin daughter.

And that turns out to be very successful, even though the company only has six employees. As of 2020 – a year after the company’s founding – a net profit of about 600 million rubles, or about 5.86 million francs, was recorded.

Shareholder Vorontsova is said to have earned 232 million rubles (2.27 million francs) in dividends alone. In the following years 2021 and 2022, Nomeco again increased its net profit to 810 million and then 855 million rubles, that is, in both cases significantly more than 8 million francs.

A clinic provides Vorontsova’s company with bearable assignments

For Vorontsova, these transactions are particularly bearable. In addition to the dividends, she also receives a monthly salary of approximately 700,000 rubles or 6,840 francs. The Navalny team therefore estimates that the alleged Putin daughter earned a total of 944 million rubles from Nomeco’s salary and dividends from 2019 to 2022. That corresponds to almost 9.18 million francs.

According to research, most of the money for Vorontsova’s company comes from the Sogas Clinic. Sogaz is a Russian insurance company that is within the sphere of influence of Putin confidant Yuri Kovalchuk. He would be one of the few people Putin listens to, says Russia expert Irina Scherbakova in an interview with t-online.

In 2021 and 2022 alone, Sogas is said to have transferred about 1.5 billion rubles to Nomeco for “services related to information modeling for project implementation”.

The clinic treated close confidants of the Kremlin

According to “Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty”, close confidants of Kremlin leader Putin and mercenaries from the Wagner group who fought in Syria and Ukraine have already been treated at the clinic in St. Petersburg. The vice president of Gazprombank or the chairman of the Council of the Russian Federation were probably already on the patient list. In August 2022, the clinic was taken over by a high-ranking manager of Vorontsova’s company Nomeco.

According to the investigation, further evidence of excessive wealth in the home of Putin’s daughter comes from her second husband, Yevgeny Nagory. Vorontsova was previously married to Dutchman Jorrit Faassen, and the couple’s divorce became public in 2022. Her new husband moves in the circles of the Russian elite: he joined the Novatek company, which belongs to a confidant of Putin. There he is expected to earn around 7,900 euros per month.

Vorontsova’s son travels with Putin’s bodyguard

In 2020, he was able to buy another luxury apartment in Moscow for about 8.3 million euros. According to the Navalny team, a “normal endocrinologist” would have to work for more than 3,030 years.

It has never been officially confirmed that Maria Vorontsova is Putin’s daughter. But her son’s travels are further evidence of this. Because he also has a Dutch passport and, unlike his mother, is not on the EU and American sanctions lists, Vorontsova’s eleven-year-old son can move relatively freely.

He is apparently often accompanied by an agent from the FSO, the protective service of the Russian president. Navalny’s team says the same man has often served as Putin’s bodyguard, photos show.

The researchers are certain that Vorontsova’s fortune “has only scratched the surface.” Nevertheless, great wealth has been revealed.

For Navalny’s team, this is not surprising: “Everyone around him has become a billionaire – his wife, both daughters, his cousins, friends, friends’ children, judo comrades, neighbors and former KGB colleagues,” they describe the situation in the Putin’s inner circle.
